Two weeks ago, I went to book store to buy novel called "Devil Wears Prada". But I didn't find it there. Instead, I found one interesting novel called "Travelers Tale, Belok Kanan: Barcelona". Its title made me interest to buy since I like travelling.
I had finished read it and I really like story inside this novel.
It tells about 4 friends who have become friend since childhood. They are Francis, Retno, Farah, and Jusuf. They are in the age around 30 years old now. They live and work in different country but still communicate each other through phone, email, and YM.
Francis lives in Kansas City, US. Retno lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. Farah lives in Hoi An, Vietnam. And Jusuf lives in Cape Town, South Africa.
One day, Francis sent wedding invitation to his 3 friends. He asked them to come to his wedding party in Barcelona, Spain. So, this novel told about the journey of each of this 4 friends to Barcelona.
The most interesting part from this novel is that each of them are not going to Barcelona directly. They went to some others place first before reach Barcelona.
It's the interesting part for me.
Retno's route
Copenhagen - Amsterdam - Milan - Venice - Milan - Seville - Barcelona - Madrid - Barcelona.
Farah's route
Hoi An [Viet] - Amman [Yordan] - Budapest [Hongaria] - Vienna - Paris - Barcelona.
Farah met a boy in train from Budapest to Paris. Based on her itinerary, she wants to go directly to Paris, but the boy asked her to go to Vienna before going to Paris. [This is just like what happened between Julie Delphi dan Ethan Hawke in Before Sunrise].
Jusuf's Route
Cape Town [South Africa] - Abidjan [Cote d'Ivorie/Pantai Gading] - Senegal - Morroco - Barcelona.
This is the most interesting & funny trip in this novel :D This trip is full of struggle 
He flied to Abidjan by using plane that has problem. Upon arrival in Abidjan, he have to evacuate to other country because of civil war there. The most ironic one is when he arrived In Algeciras [in the south of Spain]. The security thought that he was a terrorist just because his name is Jusuf He was treated badly by them. It's not his last mischance. He went to the wrong place that is gays bar when arrived in Barcelona :D
Francis Route
Kansas City - Cleveland [Georgia] - Little Havana [Miami] - New York - Barcelona - Madrid - Barcelona.
They all came to Barcelona with their own mission. So what will happen when they met in Barcelona??? You better read the book..
I give 5/5 for this book.
